[Pic 10] Wrysgan Quarry - Upper level adit (Sept 1987)

Pic 10 (above) shows one of the Upper level adits. A short rough cutting through rock leading to an adit cut out of the slant - still intact and relatively dry inside - which led to moderate sized chambers.

Another view from the Main level (Pic 11 above) shows not only the large Cwmorthin quarry across the valley, but also the level leading into the lower level adit (from Pic 3) seen in the lower middle of the photo.

[Pic 12] Wrysgan Quarry - Wagon remains (Sept 1987)

Pic 12 (above) shows two of the (numerous) wagon remains that can be found around the site. Both were typical quarry wagons with metal upper bodies - ideal for carrying waste rock to the tips - but the lower wagon has a wooden chassis frame whereas the upper wagon has a metal type. Note the remaining loose double flanged wheel.
